In Lok Sabha elections 2019, BJP won 18 seats in West Bengal.

It is to be mentioned that a mass defection has been seen to the BJP party from the Congress and other regional parties.

After the resignation of Congress President Rahul Gandhi, in Goa, a majority of the Congress party, i.e. 10 out of 15, have defected to the BJP party ahead of the monsoon session that begins on July 15. The trouble has also hit in Karnataka coalition government as eight Congress and three JD(S) MLAs have submitted their resignation at the Assembly Speaker’s office on July 6. Mumbai Congress president Milind Deora on Sunday tendered resignation from the post. Jyotiraditya Scindia also quit as the party’s general secretary in Uttar Pradesh (West).

The latest resignation hit today after Navjot Singh Siddhu’s resignation surfaced into the social media. He took it to the social media to disclose his resignation and post a picture of his resignation letter.

He tweeted: "My letter to the Congress President Shri. Rahul Gandhi Ji, submitted on June 10, 2019."
