12 Members Rescue Team Still Stuck In AN-32 Crash Site After 17 Days

Guwahati, June 29, 2019:
The tragedy of AN- 32 aircraft is yet to be over despite the recovery of the dead remains of the 13 Indian Air Force (IAF) personnel who lost their lives in the crash at Arunachal’s Payum district on June 3.
The team of 12 members who were sent to rescue the personnel of the AN 32 crash is still stuck at the site.
As per the official statement of the IAF, the effort to airlift the stuck rescue team is being made as early as possible. However, due to the poor weather conditions, trekking down the path to reach the stranded team has turned very risky.

It may be mentioned that the team of 12 members were airdropped on June 12 to recover the bodies in tough terrain at an altitude of 12,000 feet.
It is now 17 days that they have been airdropped.
It is to be mentioned that one AN-32 Transporter aircraft of Indian Airforce had gone missing at Arunachal Pradesh. The aircraft took off at around 1 pm from Jorhat district in Assam on June 3.
Although the Air Force transport plane was expected to land at 1:30 pm at Mechuka in Arunachal Pradesh, there was no communication with the aircraft. The wreckage of the aircraft was later recovered at Payum in Arunachal Pradesh. 13 people who were onboard the transporter aircraft, all died in the aircraft. It may be mentioned that Inside NE was the first news site to report that the AN-32 had crashed in Payum on the very day that the aircraft had crashed.
