Bengaluru city police have arrested 145 people till Tuesday afternoon pertaining to last night's violence, arson in DJ Halli and KG Halli area.
As published in Indian Express, Sandeep Patil, the Joint Commissioner of Police (crime), said, "In the violence and rioting cases in the city so far we have arrested 145 accused and arrest is still going on."
Meanwhile, Section 144 CrPC imposed in Bengaluru city, curfew in DJ Halli and KG Halli police station limits. Three people died and several police personnel were injured.
Violence had broken out after a mob gathered outside the residence of a legislator in northeast Bengaluru late Tuesday, pelting stones and setting ablaze some vehicles, allegedly because they were irked by a derogatory social media post shared by the MLA’s relative.

The incident took place at Kaval Byrasandra in Bengaluru, outside Pulkeshinagar Congress MLA R Akhanda Srinivas Murthy’s house. The mob alleged that a Facebook post by the MLA’s relative was offensive to Islam and its beliefs.
The Janata Dal (Secular) party Wednesday alleged a "pre-planned conspiracy" demanding immediate action against the perpetrators.
While former Prime Minister and JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda urged the state government to take ”merciless” action against those involved, former CM H D Kumaraswamy said the government should ensure such incidents do not repeat.
“No religion or community is above the law and anyone who does not respect the law of the land should be punished. The Government should ensure that such incidents never repeat by taking strict action," Kumaraswamy wrote on Twitter, adding that the incident "looks like pre-planned conspiracy."
The party leaders further extended support to the government in maintaining peace and harmony in the state.
