Army Jawan Martyred in Ceasefire Violation by Pak in J&K

Jammu, August 20, 2019:

In a recent development, the Pakistan Army has resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violation along the line of control (LOC) in Mendhar and Krishna Ghati Sectors of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K's) Poonch district. As per reports, heavy damage to Pakistan Army posts and casualties to Pakistan soldiers has been inflicted by the troops of the Indian Army.

Naik Ravi Ranjan Kumar Singh has been martyred in the exchange of fire between Pakistan Army and Indian Army in Mendhar Sector in Poonch.

Naik Ravi Ranjan Kumar Singh, aged 36 years, was a resident of Gope Bigha village of Dehrionson Tehsil in Rotasa district, Bihar. The jawan is survived by his wife, Rita Devi.

It may be mentioned here that on August 17, Lance Naik Sandeep Thapa, aged 35 yrs, was martyred during ceasefire violation by Pakistan in J&K's Nowshera sector.

Lance Naik Sandeep Thapa had been in service for the last 15 years. He hailed from Dehradun in Uttarakhand state.

Previously, the Pakistan Armed forces on Saturday had initiated an unprovoked ceasefire violation in Nowshera Sector of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) by small arms fire and shelling with mortars. The violation took place at about 6:30 am.
