Arvind Kejriwal Promises 'Politics of Work' after Hard-fought Election Win

New Delhi, February 11, 2020:

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) retained its power in the national capital after the Arvind Kejriwal-led party won 62 seats out of the 70 assembly seats today in the Delhi elections 2020.

Following the remarkable victory against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which secured eight seats in the Delhi elections, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal thanked the people who voted for him and said, “I love you.

Expressing his heartfelt gratitude to the people of Delhi, he gave a roadmap of the next five years. He hinted that schools and mohalla clinics would be given the priority. However, Kejriwal avoided talking about BJP’s defeat in public.

“It is a victory of the people of Delhi who considered me their son,” he said, adding that “politics of work” had taken birth in Delhi and the AAP’s victory was that of the entire country.

It may be mentioned here that earlier, Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari had said that all the exit polls predicting that the AAP would win would be proven wrong on 11 February. “All these exit polls will fail. Please save this tweet. The BJP will form the Delhi government with 48 seats. Please don’t blame Electronic Voting Machines then”, Tiwari had tweeted. Earlier today, the Bhojpuri superstar turned actor had also predicted that his party would win 55 seats in the 70-member Assembly.
