Assembly Polls 2019: BJP Opens Up Huge Leads in Maharashtra and Haryana

Guwahati, October 24, 2019:

The counting of votes for the general election to Vidhan Sabha is underway in Maharashtra and Haryana on Thursday.

Maharashtra has recorded a low turnout of 65%.

In Maharashtra, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading with 21, Nationalist Congress Party 15, Shiv Sena 13, Congress 5, Independent 4, Krantikari Shetkari Party 1.

In Haryana, Jannayak Janta Party is leading by 2, BJP with 1 and Congress with 1.

The BJP party are the clear frontrunners in the Assembly polls in Maharashtra. For Maharashtra’s 288 seats, the BJP is continuing its alliance with Shiv Sena, whereas the Congress has allied with Sharad Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party.

In Haryana, the BJP is likely to win 66 of 90 seats, predicts the polls of polls, and the Congress is likely to win 14.

It may be mentioned here that, the counting is also on in the nine Assembly Constituencies across the Northeast, which went to the polls on October 21. Meanwhile, the BJP party has opened up leads in  4 out of the 9 Assembly Constituencies (most notably, 3 out of the 4 in Assam).
