KOLKATA: Ahead of Bengal elections, clashes erupted between the newly joined BJP cadres and old cadres of the party in Durgapur in Burdwan district. The fight reportedly started before the arrival of Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh.
As per reports, the fight between the party members erupted after the old BJP cadres were opposing the induction of some party members. The old members alleged that the newly joined cadres of the party were involved in corrupt practices and crime ahead of joining the party.

In videos that are going viral, the BJP workers can be seen hitting each other with fists.
It needs mention here that the saffron party has been buoyed by the joining of several leaders from other parties Former West Bengal Minister Suvendu Adhikari, Member of Parliament Sunil Mondal. former MP Dasarath Tirkey and 9 sitting MLAs - 6 from the TMC, and one each from the INC, CPIM, and CPI - joined the saffron party on Saturday.
The West Bengal assembly elections will be held next year and it’s a frontier the BJP wants to conquer. The party, however, faces a formidable rival in the state — Mamata Banerjee and her Trinamool Congress (TMC) party.
