The women of Shaheen Bagh have called for a Bharat Bandh on January 29 29 against the CAA and the nationwide NRC after the Supreme court on Wednesday refused to grant any stay on the Citizenship Amendment Act without hearing the center.

Reacting to this, the women of Shaheen Bagh have decided to continue their protest and stay on the roads until relief is provided, and have continued to oppose the CAA and the NRC. The center has been given 4 weeks time to respond to the petitions challenging CAA.
Tasir , a member of the organising committee who went to meet the LG, informed the media that they have asked for a Bharat Bandh on January 29.

There was also resentment in the Shaheen Bagh women after a group met the Lieutenant Governor, it has been reported. They said that a majority of them were not contacted but a hand-picked women and men met the LG. As far as giving the way to School vans and ambulances the women said that they are already giving way to the emergency vehicles and school vans since long.
It may be mentioned here that the Shaheen Bagh protest is an ongoing 24/7 sit-in peaceful protest, led by women, that began with the passage of the Citizenship Act in both houses of Parliament on 11 December 2019 and the ensuing police intervention against students at Jamia Millia Islamia who were opposing the Amendment.
