NEW DELHI: Over 8 crore traders belonging to over 40,000 trade associations across India are expected to observe Bharat Vyapar Bandh tomorrow, said the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT).

The bandh is called by CAIT demanding a review of the provisions of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime.

An apex body, the All India Transport Welfare Association (AITWA), representing 1 crore transporters also announced a "chakka jam" by the transport sector across the country tomorrow.

The bandh will be observed by not only traders but even small industries, hawkers, women entrepreneurs, said CAIT secretary-general Praveen Khandelwal.

More than 1500 cities across all the states will hold ‘Dharna’, and no trader will log in to the GST portal in their protest, he added.

Earlier, CAIT has also wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi raising issues related to the GST regime and alleging violation of e-commerce rules by major e-tailers.
