BJP MLA Says those Opposing CAA can be 'Wiped Out' in an Hour in Modi's India

A BJP MLA from Haryana has raised quite a few eyebrows after claiming that those opposing the National Register of Citizens (NRC) and Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) can be “wiped out” in an hour.

The MLA, Leela Ram Gurjar, made this claim while speaking a pro-CAA rally in his Home Constituency of Kaithal.

He said today’s India is the one conceptualized by leaders like Gandhi and Nehru, but rather, it is the India of Narendra Modi.

“Aaj yeh Jawaharlal Nehru ka Hindustan nahi hai, aaj yeh Gandhi wala nahi hai. Aaj yeh Hindustan hai, Narendra Modi ji ka. Miya ji, ab yeh Hindustan, Narendra Modi ji ka hai, agar ishara ho gaya na, toh ek ghante mei safaya kar denge", he sad said.

(Translation: This India is not the one of Jawaharlal Nehru or of Gandhi, but it is of Narendra Modi. If we get the signal, within one hour, we will wipe them out).

The BJP leader further added that Muslims think there is a conspiracy to make them leave the country, but there is 'nothing of that sort' in this act. "But those who have illegally entered the country will definitely have to go,” he said.

It may be mentioned here that protests against the recent amendment of the Citizenship Act continue to rage across the nation. Moreover, the Government's announcement to implement a 'nationwide NRC' has also been met with widespread resentment, with many claiming that it might discriminate against Muslims.
