New Delhi, February 25, 2020:

In what is believed to be the most violent clash in Delhi, an angry mob attacked two Journalists of NDTV while they were on duty reporting the protests in Northeast part of the national capital.

NDTV’s executive editor, Nidhi Razdan, took to Twitter to inform about the ghastly attack on the Journalists. “Two of my colleagues @arvindgunasekar and @saurabhshukla_s were badly beaten by a mob just now in Delhi, they only stopped beating them after realising they are “our people- Hindus”. Absolutely despicable,” she wrote.

It needs mention here that the Citizenship Amendment Act or CAA was the reason behind the protests. But gradually it took a communal turn. Initially pro-CAA and anti-CAA protesters started hurling stones at each other. According to latest reports, Hindu mobs have started throwing stones and petrol bombs at Muslim homes across the road in Kabir Nagar, near Maujpur.

Journalists were also attacked and many forced to delete pictures and videos from their phones. More than 150 people were injured as of Tuesday morning. The death toll has increased to eight, including police personnel. Schools and colleges have been shut.
