Guwahati, March 1, 2019:

The entire nation is holding its breath as the handing over of captured Indian Air Force Commander Abhinandan Varthaman will take place at any moment now as the pilot has reached Wagah border. Abhinandan will be handed over to IAF officials at the border. Abhinandan will be escorted to Amritsar city in Punjab after he is handed over to the Air Force. After that, he will be taken to Delhi in an IAF aircraft. As per latest reports, Abhinandan's medical check-up is underway at this point of time.

It is to be mentioned that hundreds upon hundreds of Indian patriots have assembled at the border to catch a glimpse of the war hero, beating drum sand shouting slogans of ‘Bharat Maata ki Jai’.

Abhinandan was taken prisoner by Pakistani armed forces after his MiG-21 Fighter Jet crash-landed on the wrong side of the Line of Control on Wednesday. 24 hours after his capture, Pakistan Prime Minister announced to hand him over to India as a “gesture of peace”, although Indian officials have stated that Pakistan was compelled to do so because of the international ‘Geneva peace conventions’.

It is to be mentioned that the daily 'Retreat ceremony' that is held at the Attari-Wagah border front along the India-Pakistan border in Punjab has been “canceled” for Friday due to administrative proceedings of Abhinandan’s release.
