Budget 2019 | Nirmanla Sitharaman Drapes Budget Docs In Red Cloth Instead Of Briefcase

Guwahati, July 5, 2019:

Newly elected Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the first Budget of Modi 2.0 government today at 11 am today.

The highlight of the budget is that Nirmala Sitharaman arrived at the Finance Ministry, North Block with budget documents in four-fold red cloth instead of a briefcase.

Sitharaman will present the full-year Budget for the year ending March 2020. The duration of the presentation ranges from 90 to 120 minutes. Along with the Union Budget, Railway budget will also be presented today.

Following the traditions of the country, the union finance minister called on President Ramnath Kovind before presenting the Union Budget and hands over Budget copy to President at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
