Only a few hours are left until the celebrations of Eid-ul-Fitr officially begin in various parts of India. The festival is being celebrated across the world from June 4-5. This important occasion is sure to fill up the hearts of the Islamic population with unadulterated joy.
Eid, the post-Ramadan prayers and celebration by Muslims, has been slated for Tuesday June 4 across most parts of Africa and the world. In India, the festivities will be held on June 5.
The Muslim people are all set to welcome the festival with great fervour. The markets are full of delicacies and the shops are brimming with new clothes and other attractive commodities.
The festival is also going to be held in several parts of the Northeast as the Muslims will offer Namaz and take part in the festivities.
The Burah Jame Masjid in Assam's Guwahati city will hold the Namaz at 8:30 am in the morning on 5 June and the festivities will be underway throughout the day.
The date of Eid ul-Fitr typically varies from country to country, depending on whether the moon has been spotted. The lunar cycle is used to calculate the Islamic Hijri era and this year’s Ramadan was observed at a different time across India, as the moon was not visible in some parts of India.
As has been the case many times in the past, Eid is celebrated on separate days across the country.
