NEW DELHI: Union home minister Amit Shah on Tuesday held a meeting with Delhi police and other officials to take stock of the law and order situation (Farmers' Rally) after protests turn violent.
The Ministry of Home Affairs issued an order for temporary suspension of internet services in parts of the National Capital Region (NCR) amid the farmers’ protest which turned violent with a clash breaking out between police personnel and protestors’.
The MHA order said that the services were being suspended at Singhu, Ghazipur, Tikri, Mukarba Chowk,Nangloi and adjoining areas till Tuesday midnight.
The order, issued under Section 7 of the India Telegraph Act and approved by the Union home secretary, said the suspension of services was necessary in the interest of maintaining public safety and averting a public emergency.

Earlier today, protesting against the Centre's controversial laws have breached the Red Fort.
Protesters hoisted their saffron flag at the ramparts of the historic Red Fort, which led to a massive uproar, as cops soon arrived at the scene in a bid to try and stop the farmers' rampage.
A farmer protesting against the Centre's new controversial farm laws was today killed at protests in ITO, New Delhi as streets resembled a war zone due to clashes.
According to reports, the farmer's tractor turned turtle after being shot at.
Groups of protesting farmers reached Red Fort after breaching police barricades, attacking personnel and even vandalising a bus at ITO.
Groups of protesting farmers camping at Singhu, Tikri and Ghazipur border points of the national capital broke police barricades on Tuesday morning to force their way into the city, before the time allotted by the Delhi Police for their tractor parade.
