J&K, February 18, 2019:

One Indian Army Officer and three soldiers belonging to the 55 Rashtriya Rifles were martyred in an encounter in Kashmir’s Pulwama district, merely days after as many as 42 CRPF jawans were martyred in a Jaish-e-Mohammed suicide bombing.

The encounter broke out after a search operation by army, police and CRPF personnel led them to an area in Pinglan village where 2-3 terrorists were hiding.  After crossfire between the two parties, four Indian Army soldiers, including one Major, were martyred.

Major DS Dondial, Head Constable Save Ram, Sepoy Ajay Kumar, and Sepoy Hari Singh are the soldiers who were martyred during the firing.

Two civilians, who were owners of the house where the terrorists were hiding, also died during the crossfire.

Meanwhile, tensions continue to escalate between neighbours India and Pakistan. It is also to be mentioned that a 'bandh' has been called nationwide on Monday as a tribute to the dastardly terror attack in Pulwama on February 14.
