Reportedly, Jakob Lindenthal from the Chennai airport, informed the media that he had received verbal directions to leave India from the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) in Chennai.
He was reportedly advised to meet immigration officials post his participation in the protest where he had carried a poster that said: “1933 to 1945; We Have Been There” (a reference to the Nazi regime in Germany)."
Earlier, he was called to the immigration office citing some administrative issues related to his residential permit in India, however, it was clear that there were no such issues. But later he was asked about CAA and his participation in anti-CAA protests. Soon after that, authorities asked Lindenthal to leave the country immediately for violating his student visa rules.
