The injured have been shifted to the nearby hospital. It may be mentioned here that earlier this month, there was a grenade attack in Srinagar. The attack was carried out by suspected militants. IGP, CRPF, (Srinagar sector) Ravideep Singh Sahi informed that militants had lobbed the grenade towards a CRPF deployment in Kawdara area of Srinagar. It exploded 25-30 m away from the area where CRPF personnel were deployed. No injuries were reported in the grenade attack.

The attack comes days after a group of three-four militants opened fire at a police team at a toll plaza on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.

Three terrorists were killed in the encounter in the firing, which took place around 5 am when the police team stopped a Srinagar-bound truck for checking near Nagrota.
