All higher education institutions of the country have been advised to take classes six days a week to make up for the loss of learning hours due to the COVID-19 pandemic from November. Moreover, there will be a curtailment of breaks and vacations.

This finds mention in the revised academic calendar approved by the UGC this month.

Furthermore, it has been mentioned that the classes for first year students would start from November. It has also been decided to disallow any new admission after November 30.
