Guwahati, January 25, 2019:

Girl power prevails yet again! Men take note, Lieutenant Bhavana Kasturi has been chosen to lead an all-male contingent in the Republic Day parade on January 26 in New Delhi. This, in fact, makes her the first woman to do so.

In the Republic Day parade on January 26, an all-male jawan contingent will march under her command at the ceremonial boulevard Rajpath and all eyes of the nation will be on her.

"When I give the command in front of the Supreme Commander of the armed forces and he takes my salute, that is the moment I have been dreaming of. I am excited about the crowds that come to watch the parade. A lot of girls will be very happy to see me," said the young officer.

Bhavana, who joined the Indian Army two-and-a-half-years ago, hails from Hyderabad in Telangana. Truly, girl power at its finest and the young gun looks all set to inspire an entire generation of women to follow in her footsteps!
