17-year-old Ramya’s wish was fulfilled by Rachakonda Police Commissionerate on Tuesday by making her the Commissioner of Police for a day. Ramya is battling blood cancer.
Ramya hails from Old Alwal in Secunderabad of Telangana. She is a second-year MPC Intermediate student of a private college.

The initiative to this wish was taken up by the foundation ‘Make a Wish’. The foundation approached Mahesh Bhagwat IPS, CP Rachakonda, presenting the wish of Ramya.
Fighting against leukaemia (blood cancer), the 17-year-old is currently receiving treatment at the NIMS Punjagutta hospital in Hyderabad.
Taking charge as Commissioner of Police, Ramya mentioned that she desires to control the law and order problems, create a friendly police atmosphere in the area, work for the protection of women, and increase the ‘She Teams’ and patrolling parties.
Wishing her a speedy recovery, Mahesh Bhagwat IPS CP Rachakonda and Sudheer Babu IPS Addl Commissioner of Police presented her with a 'small financial help' for emergencies.
The beaming Ramya was also given the guard of honour, along with her mother.
This is not the first time that such wishes were fulfilled. Earlier in 2017, another boy Ehsan's wish to become Commissioner for a day was also fulfilled.
