India Begins Preparations to Evacuate Nationals from Wuhan

New Delhi, January 28, 2020:

India has begun the process of evacuating nationals from Wuhan, China, which has been impacted by the outbreak of Coronavirus.

Earlier, the authorities had kept their plan of evacuation on hold as a huge number of people were infected with the disease. As many as 106 deaths have been reported from China due to Coronavirus.

However, as per the latest reports, the process to prepare for evacuation of the Indian nationals has begun. It may be mentioned here that on Monday, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani had sought interference of the Ministry of External Affairs to evacuate 100 Indian students studying in Wuhan.

Official Spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, Raveesh Kumar informed that the Indian embassy in Beijing was dealing with the Chinese government authorities. It has also set up dedicated hotlines - +8618610952903, +8618612083629, ++8618612083617 and email address – helpdesk.beijing@mea.gov.in for the families willing to reach out to the Indians in Wuhan.

Kumar took to Twitter and posted, “
