India crosses 10 lakh COVID19 cases, highest spike of 34,956 in one day

COVID19 cases cross the 10 lakh mark in India with the highest single-day spike of 34,956 cases and 687 deaths. Total positive cases stand at 10,03,832 including 3,42,473 active cases, 6,35,757 cured/discharged/migrated and 25,602 deaths: Ministry of Health and Family Welfare

1,30,72,718 samples tested for COVID19 till 16th July, of these 3,33,228 samples were tested yesterday, said the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).

India recorded the highest-ever daily spike of 34,956 COVID-19 cases and 687 deaths in the last 24 hours, pushing the total tally to 10,03,832. The death toll is now 25,602, as per data released by the Union Health Ministry. Active cases in India stand at 3,42,473 while 6,35,757 have been cured or discharged so far.

Among the states, Maharashtra is the first state to cross 6 thousand deaths. It has recorded 2,84,281 corona cases with 1,58,140 cured, 11,194 deaths, and 1,14,947 active cases. The western state is followed by Delhi and Tamil Nadu. Delhi has corona 1,18,645 cases with 97,693 cured, 3,545 deaths, and 17,407 active cases. Tamil Nadu has 1,56,369 positive cases with 1,07,416 cured, 2,236 deaths 46,717 active cases. Gujarat with 45,481 COVID-19 cases, so far, has 32,103 have been cured, 2,089 deaths, and 11,289 active cases.

Northeast COVID19

Assam has the highest COVID-19 cases in the Northeast India followed by Tripura.
