Indian Army Dog Unit Performs Yoga on International Yoga Day

Guwahati, June 21, 2019:

International Yoga Day is not only celebrated by the people across the world, but the day is well marked by the participation of the Army Dog Unit too.

The Army Dog Unit also participated in the International Yoga Day commemoration accompanying various battalions of the Indian security forces performing yoga.

In many of the posts shared by the Army, the four-legged security forces could be seen in pictures performing Yoga, alongside their security forces.

Meanwhile, ANI has also posted a video showing the canines performing yoga with the army personnel.

The dog squad could be seen standing on their two hind legs with the other two in the air, in sync with the security forces performing yoga right opposite to them.

About International Day of Yoga:

International Day of Yoga, or commonly and unofficially referred to as Yoga Day, is celebrated annually on 21 June since its inception in 2015. An international day for yoga was declared unanimously by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practice originated in India. The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his UN address suggested the date of 21 June, as it is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and shares a special significance in many parts of the world.
