The Chinar Corps of the Indian Army, which operates in Jammu and Kashmir, in the last week of May organised Iftar feasts in several areas of Kashmir including Gulmarg, Kuparwa and Khanpet for the for the locals dwelling in those areas.
In Gulmarg located in the Baramulla district, the police and civil dignitaries were also invited.
The official twitter handle of the Chinar Corps tweeted regarding the same. They uploaded a large number of pictures of the military top brass interacting with the civilians along with the messages meant to foster unity between military forces and the civilian populace in the troubled region.
It is truly heartening to see people from all faiths celebrating the holy month of Ramzan together: capturing the true essence of secular & inclusive values of India. Watching the Indian Army personnel hosting the people of the Kashmir Valley to a sumptuous feast. These acts of kindness will go a long way in re-affirming the Kashmiri people's belief in the Indian Army.
