Prime accused in the Sheena Bora murder case, Indrani Mukherjea’s plea for lie-detector test has been rejected by the special court of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday.
Indrani Mukherjee’s plea was rejected as the CBI said that polygraph test was not admissible in the court of law and as 35 witnesses have already been examined by the prosecution, it was not required anymore.
According to reports, Indrani submitted a two-page handwritten application requesting a polygraph test last month. In the application, she had stated that at the time she was arrested in 2015, she was mentally, emotionally and physically disturbed and was under tremendous pressure not to undergo the test. She added that she is much better now and should be allowed to undergo the test in the name of justice.
It may be mentioned that in 2015, Indrani refused to take the polygraph test after her arrest with her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna and driver Shyamvar Pinturam Rai for allegedly killing and abducting Sheena Bora ( Indrani’s daughter) and subsequently burning her dead body.
