Javed Akhtar "Shocked" Over PM Biopic Credit, Denies Writing Songs for It

Guwahati, March 23, 2019:

In a shocking revelation, Bollywood’s veteran lyricist and scriptwriter, Javed Akhtar has denied writing any songs for the biopic “PM Narendra Modi” directed by Omung Kumar B through his twitter handle.

In the tweet, he wrote: “Am shocked to find my name on the poster of this film. Have not written any songs for it!”

On the other hand, famous Bollywood lyricist, Sameer has also denied writing any songs for the movie. He tweeted: “Mujhe hairat hai apana naam pm narendra Modi film me dekh karr , Maine aisi kisi film me koi gaana nahi likha hai ..”

Meanwhile, Twitterati have used the platform to troll the biopic as a C-grade election propaganda film and slammed the filmmakers for using the name of the famous lyricist without his knowledge.

The Biopic will showcase the journey of PM Modi from beginnings to his years as the Gujarat Chief Minister to winning the 2014 general elections, and finally becoming the Prime Minister of the country. The Film is scheduled to release on April 5.

PM Modi’s role has been played by actor Vivek Anand Oberoi, while it is being produced by Suresh Oberoi, Anand Pandit and Sandip Ssingh. The other key roles of the biopic are being played by Darshan Kumaar, Boman Irani, Zarina Wahab and Barkha Bisht Sengupta. The trailer of the biopic was launched on March 20, 2019.
