J&K | Two houses destroyed as Indo-Pak forces continue cross-border shelling

Jammu and Kashmir, March 1, 2019:

Amid escalating tensions and a war-like atmosphere prevailing along the Line of Control (LoC), the armies of India and Pakistan have continued to exchange fire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kamalkote Sector of Uri area of Baramulla district.

According to reports, the firing started late at night at around 11:30 pm on Thursday. There are reports that two houses in Madya Kamalkote village were damaged during the crossfire and one person, namely Reyaz Ahmed, (30) was injured when his house was damaged. He has been shifted to a hospital for treatment.

Another house belonging to a person named Farooq Ahmad Buddan has also been destroyed during the crossfire.

Meanwhile, restrictions have been imposed in town Anantnag, and there has been a heavy deployment of CRPF/ Police in the area to look after the law and order situation in the region.
