Congress' one of the closest aides with 18 long years of working experience, Jyotiraditya Scindia on Wednesday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
This development comes a day after he quit Congress and approached Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Scindia ended his 18 years of association with the Congress and shared his resignation letter where he cited, "“Having been a primary member of the Congress party for the last 18 years, it is now time for me to move on. I am tendering my resignation from the primary membership of the Indian National Congress and as you well know, this is a path that has been drawing itself out over the last year.”
He is now likely to be rewarded with a Rajya Sabha nomination, which is expected to be announced by the BJP soon and eventually, a job in the central cabinet.
It may be mentioned here that with Scindia's exit, as many as 22 MLAs resined from the Madhya Pradesh State Assembly, thereby pushing the Congress towards a political crisis.
