New Delhi, January 29, 2020:

Standup comedian Kunal Kamra will have to schedule his travel plans as several airlines have banned him following his “unacceptable behavior” onboard, the latest one comes from GoAir, which has banned him from flying with the airline until further notice.

Kunal Kamra on Tuesday had shared a video, wherein he was trolling Journalist Arnab Goswami for his critical stand on a TV show. He was seen asking Arnab that the nation wanted to know (a pun on Arnab’s popular show) whether Arnab was a “coward” or a “nationalist.”

Kamra also said, “I wanted to have a conversation with you politely. But you do not deserve my politeness. And this is not for you. This is for Rohith Vemula’s mother whose caste you were discussing on your f****** show.” (Rohith Vemula, a Dalit scholar had committed suicide on the campus of the University of Hyderabad earlier on January 17, 2016).

After the video went viral, IndiGo Airlines, Air India and SpiceJet banned him from flying with them. “GoAir has suspended Mr. Kunal Kamra from flying with the airline till further notice,” the airline tweeted on Wednesday, following Indigo, Air India and SpiceJet.

Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, soon after, tweeted that “offensive behaviour designed to provoke and create disturbance inside an aircraft is absolutely unacceptable”. In his post, he also “advised other airlines to impose similar restrictions on the person concerned.”
