Lance Naik Sandeep Thapa Martyred During Ceasefire Violation by Pak

J&K, August 17, 2019:

In a significant development from Jammu and Kashmir, an Indian Army Jawan, Lance Naik Sandeep Thapa, aged 35 yrs, was martyred today during ceasefire violation by Pakistan in the Nowshera sector of Jammu & Kashmir.

Lance Naik Sandeep Thapa had been in service for the last 15 years. He hailed from Dehradun in Uttarakhand state.

It may be mentioned here Pakistan Armed forces on Saturday initiated an unprovoked ceasefire violation in Nowshera Sector of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) by small arms fire and shelling with mortars. The violation took place at about 6:30 am.

According to reports, the Indian Army jawans are responding to the attack. It is to be mentioned that the recent abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution and bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir, have led to clashes in the valley. The news of the ceasefire violation comes on the 13th day after the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, which gave special rights to Kashmiri citizens. As a result of this, Pakistan stopped the ‘Samjhauta Express’ and tensions between the two arch-rivals has hit an all-time high.
