Man Shoots near Jamia during Anti-CAA Protest March, Shouts “Yeh Lo Azaadi”

New Delhi, January 30, 2020:

A man opened fire near Jamia Millia Islamia University in Delhi and shouted “Yeh Lo Azaadi”.

A Jamia student has been injured in the firing on Thursday. According to reports, the man was detained by the Police and the injured student was rushed to the Holy Family Hospital nearby.

The Jamia students had planned to hold the protest march to Rajghat on Mahatma Gandhi’s death anniversary.

Police had detained the accused from the spot. Further details are awaited. The Jamia incident has sparked chaos in the area after the attack.

Meanwhile, video of the man open wielding the gun and screaming “Yeh Lo Azaadi” has gone viral on social media platforms, bringing in more criticism to Delhi Police and the ruling government.
