Mamata Banerjee has rolled out the red carpet for opposition leaders from across the country for a mass rally that is being held in Kolkata. The Trinamool Congress supremo has announced that the rally will sound the “death knell” for the ruling NDA government.
The event, which is expected to be the largest such rally held in Bengal since independence, is being held at the Brigade parade ground and over forty lakh people are expected to be present at the rally.
The opposition leaders have collectively blamed the BJP government for the poor condition of farmers in the country.
Former Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav, former Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah, N Chandrababu Naidu, Deve Gowda, Shatrughan Sinha, Arvind Kejriwal and DMK head M.K. Stalin are some of the many prominent politicians present at the meet.
Gegong Apang, the former Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister, who recently parted ways with the ruling party, is also present at the rally. AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal has also graced the rally with his presence.
The rally is expected to be the biggest anti-BJP rally in the country before the Lok Sabha.
