24 July 2018:

Expressing deep concern over rising incidents of lynching of innocent people by mobs in various parts of the country, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday said the government was ready to enact new laws if needed.

“If necessary, the government is ready to enact new laws,” Singh said in the Parliament.

His assertions were in response to Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge who highlighted the recent lynching of a man in Alwar district of Rajasthan.

On Monday, Congress chief Rahul Gandhi had tweeted: “Policemen, in #Alwar took 3hrs to get a dying Rakbar Khan, the victim of a lynch mob, to a hospital just 6km away. Why?
