Naxal Killed in Chattisgarh Encounter, Two CRPF Jawans Martyred

Guwahati, February 10, 2020:

Two commandos of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and a Naxal were killed in an encounter in Chattisgarh on Monday.

According to reports, the encounter took place around 10:30 AM in Irapalli village of Bijapur district in Chattisgarh. A senior CRPF official said that the exchange of fire broke out when the security forces were on a counter-insurgency operation.

Four personnel of the 204th Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA - an elite unit of CRPF) had sustained injuries in the incident. Later, the two of them died, said reports.

The CRPF has recovered a weapon from the Naxal who was also killed in the Chattisgarh encounter.
