Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MP from Berhampur, Chandrasekhar Sahu, has rolled into a controversy after a video surfaced on social media in which the MP is seen slapping a party worker.
The incident has been reported during a party meeting held in Paralakhemundi of Gajapati district on Tuesday where the former Union Minister slapped a young party worker, Sangram Sahu on stage in front of media and public.
Sangram, who is a former Gajapati District Youth Congress president, attended the meeting to join the ruling BJD.
The incident was caught on camera and has gone viral and invited criticism from the political opponents.
However, the young leader tried to downplay the incident by saying that it was an elderly gesture.
