PM Modi launches campaign on Jan Andolan for COVID-19

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday, 8th October announced to launch a campaign on Jan Andolan for COVID-19.

PM Modi through his twitter handle appealed the citizen to fight the novel Coronavirus disease together. He further urged the people to always wear mask and take necessary precautions such as wash hands and follow socal distancing in order to prevent the spread.

Ahead of the launch on Thursday, PMModi tweeted several Covid-19 preventive measures. “Let’s unite to fight Corona! Always remember: Do wear a mask, keep your hands clean, follow social distancing, maintain ‘two yards’ distance from others,” he tweeted.

He further added that we will succeed and win the fight against COVID-19. In his last ‘Mann ki Baat’ programme he also reminded everyone to not venture out without a face shield.

Modi also informed that a concerted action plan will be implemented by the Centre in and departments and state government and Union Territories with targeted communication in high case-load districts.

Proper dissemination of precautionary measures on all media platforms thoughout the country will be put out. Informing about the campaign Minister for Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar said that special focus will be laid on simple and easily understandable messages, so that they can reach every citizen.

President Ram Nath Kovind also urged the citizens to unite in the fight against COVID-19. He appealed to wear mask, maintain social distancing and also take other precautionary measures.

The president said that the nation stands united to defeat the disease through collective determination and discipline. He added that together we will fight, we will win.

After the launch of the awareness campaign by the PM, Bollywood celebrities like Salman Khan and Kriti Sanon took to social media to support the campaign. The actors retweeted PM Modi's tweet and urged fans to follow preventive measures to fight the pandemic.
