The President’s Colour, which is the highest honour conferred to a military unit, will be awarded to the Indian Naval Academy.
President Ram Nath Kovind will be awarding the Academy on November 20. The event will be marked by a parade by the cadets of the Indian Naval Academy. Several dignitaries will be part of the award ceremony - Governor of Kerala, Chief of the Naval Staff, Members of Parliament, State Ministers and Senior Officers of the Indian Navy.

A special postal cover will also be released to mark the award ceremony on November 20.
It may be mentioned here that the President’s Colour is a recognition of the yeoman service rendered by the Indian Naval Academy in training and shaping Indian Naval officers over the last fifty years at three different locations - Kochi, Goa and Ezhimala.
The President’s Colour has been awarded to the Southern Naval Command, Eastern Naval Command, Western Naval Command, Western Fleet, Eastern Fleet and the Submarine Arm so far.
