Congress leader Rahul Gandhi (popularly known as 'RaGa') has been caught red-handed browsing his phone while the President Ramnath Kovind was addressing a joint session of Parliament at the in the historic Central Hall.
The Congress leader seemed completely disinterested and was seen typing on his phone for 24 minutes during the President's one-hour speech.
RaGa was even seen talking to his mother Sonia Gandhi for twenty minutes while the speech was going on. His nonchalant attitude even drew some sharp glances from his mother, but the Wayanad MP, RaGa, seemed highly uninterested in the proceedings.
At one point, the entire auditorium broke into applause when President Kovind mentioned the surgical strikes, Balakot and Uri, (even Sonia Gandhi thumped her table in appreciation), Rahul kept staring elsewhere.
Meanwhile, the President said the people of India have given a "clear mandate" by electing the BJP-led NDA government to accelerate the country's development journey that started in 2014.
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi government is moving ahead to create a strong, secure and inclusive India", he said.
President Kovind also lauded women for coming out to vote in large numbers during the recently-concluded Lok Sabha polls.
The President also credited the Modi government for the strikes and managing to get Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar listed as a global terrorist in the United Nations.
It may be mentioned that the BJP party won a historic mandate as it was able to win 303 of the Lok Sabha seats, with the Congress party coming a distant second. In recent times, there has been much speculation over RaGa's future in the party as he has threatened to resign from Party Presidentship.
