Congress President Rahul Gandhi has filed his nomination from Wayanad Constituency in Kerala. He will also contest from Amethi in Uttar Pradesh, which has traditionally been a Congress citadel. He was joined by his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and headed to the district collectorate office in Kalpetta where he filed his nomination.
Meanwhile, RaGa filing his nomination from Wayanad has bolstered the opposition’s allegations that Rahul is unsure of his chances at Amethi, where he will go toe-to-toe against Union Minister Smriti Irani.
On Tuesday, he explained that he was fighting from Wayanad because: “South India feels hostility from Narendra Modi; I wanted to send message that I am standing with you; I wanted to send message that I am standing with you."
the It may be mentioned that Rahul has been elected to Parliament from Amethi since 2004, his first election.
