Rajya Sabha: Out of 229 members, 54 MPs with criminal, 28 with serious charges

Out of the 229 Rajya Sabha (RS) MPs analysed, 54 with 24% of them have declared criminal cases. With 28, which is 12% declaring serious criminal cases.

RS MPs with declared cases related to Crimes against Women: 4 Rajya Sabha MPs have declared cases related to crimes against women. Out of 4 MPs, One MP namely K.C. Venugopal (INC) from
Rajasthan has declared case related to rape (IPC Section-376).

Party wise Rajya Sabha MPs with criminal cases:14(18%) out of 77 MPs from BJP, 8 (20%) out of 40 MPs from INC, 2 (15%) out of 13 MPs from AITC, 3(33%) out of 9 MPs

Party wise MPs with serious criminal cases: 5(6%) out of 77 Rajya Sabha MPs from BJP, 6 (15%) out of 40 RS MPs from INC, 1 (8%) out of 13 Rajya Sabha MPs from AITC, 1(11%) out of 9 RS MPs from BJD, 3(50%) out of 6 MPs from YSRCP and 3(60%) out of 5 MPs from RJD have declared serious criminal cases against themselves in their affidavits.

The highest criminal records are from Delhi and from Assam the percentage is 14. RJD has the cases in a political party.
