After a sanitation worker at the Rashtrapati Bhavan tested positive 4 days ago, nearly 125 families in the premises have been asked to go into self-isolation. They have also been asked to adhere to social distancing norms, as per the Health Minister
While the secretary-level officials and their families were asked to be under home quarantine, workers were taken to a quaratine facility in central Delhi, sources said. Apart from the sanitation workers, all the others have tested negative.
With over 2,000 cases, Delhi has the second-highest numbers in the country after Maharashtra.
Meanwhile, the death toll due to the Covid-19 has risen to 590 and the number of cases climbed to 18,601 in India, with 47 deaths and 1336 new cases reported in the last 24 hours. However in a positive sign, case-doubling rate in the country has slowed down to 7.5 days from 3.4 days earlier.

Notably, today is Civil Services Day, and the civil service officers have been lauded for their efforts against the COVID-19. Earlier, Indian PM Narendra Modi wrote, "I appreciate their efforts in ensuring India successfully defeats COVID-19. They are working round the clock, assisting those in need and ensuring everyone is healthy."
Meanwhile, the lockdown restrictions are being relaxed in various parts. However, the Centre scolded the Kerala government over the latter's decision to open eateries and allow travel. "Lifting of certain restrictions amounted to dilution of Centre's guidelines," a letter sent by the Centre to the Kerela admin stated.
Globally, 24,76,854 cases of the virus have been reported. 16,59,795 of them are active cases. While 6,46,760 patients have recovered, 1,70,299 deaths have been reported so far.
