RBI GOVERNOR URJIT PATEL RESIGNED

Guwahati, December 10, 2018:

Urjit Patel, RBI Governor on Monday resigned from his post, weeks after disagreements between the central bank and the Modi government came out in open.

Patel cited personal reasons for his resignation.

 Urjit Patel stated, "On account of personal reasons, I have decided to step down from my current position effective immediately."

Shockingly, soon after Patel’s resignation was made public Modi tweeted that he will be “missed immensely"."Dr Urjit Patel is an economist of a very high caliber with a deep and insightful understanding of macro-economic issues," PM Modi said in tweet.
