Terrorists Hurl Grenades at Indian Army Convoy in J&K

J&K, September 28, 2019:

Terrorists have allegedly hurled grenades at an Indian Army convoy in Jammu and Kashmir's Batote area on Saturday, reports said.

Senior Superintendent of Police of Ramban Anita Sharma has confirmed that the terrorists attacked the Road Opening Party (ROP) of the Army at Chakwa camp.

The SP informed that no casualties have been reported in the area. However, Army, police and other security agencies have cordoned off the area and search operation is going on.

It may be mentioned here that the situation in the Valley remains tense after the abrogation of Article 370 in the State. An elongated shutdown has been reported in capital Srinagar, and thousands of jawans have been deployed to keep the peace in the region.

The troops in the conflict-torn state have been on high alert since the February 14 terrorist attack at Pulwama, which left as many as 40 CRPF jawans dead.
