It seems like the BJP party is leaving no stone unturned to market itself in front of the nation ahead of the General elections which will be held in seven phases beginning on 11 April. After flooding social media with BJP promotions, the saffron party now seems to have its sights set on television in a bid to influence voters before elections.
The popular television show ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain’, which runs on ‘&tv’, has been accused of doing paid promotion for the BJP party. This was brought to light by a Twitter account that goes by the name of 'Victim (Heath Ledger) Floperoi'.
The account posted a series of videos in which the characters of the show are discussing the schemes of the current administration.
The viral thread was captioned, "Yesterday i realized Modi has found another venue to advertise himself. i watch "Bhabhi ji ghar par hain" (that's right, deal with it), this TV serial has started to use some not so subtle Product placement/advertisement recently, but yesterday something else happened."
Meanwhile, Twiteratti is up in arms against it and some are accusing of the BJP of pushing “blatant propaganda.”
