TWO JAWANS, ONE MEDIA PERSON KILLED IN NAXAL ATTACK IN CHATTISGARH

Guwahati, October 30, 2018:

Two jawans and one media person were killed after Naxals carried out an attack in Dantewada district of Chattisgarh. Two other jawans were also injured in the attack, which took place in the Aranpur area.

The media person, a cameraman with Doordarshan who died was Achyuta Nanda Sahu. The two jawans were from the Chattisgarh police force.

Reports of firing were coming in from the area and a team of reinforcements led by the local superintendent of police had been sent to the attack site.

Reports of civilians getting injured in the attack are also coming in.

The Doordarshan cameraman who was killed in the attack was part of a team that had arrived in Aranpur as part of the election coverage. Chhattisgarh is set to go assembly elections next month.
