Uttar Pradesh BJP MLA shot at during Holi celebrations

Lucknow, March 21, 2019:

Holi celebrations at Lakhimpur Kheri in Uttar Pradesh turned ugly on Thursday when Yogesh Verma, a BJP MLA, was shot at by unidentified assailants while participating in Holi festivities at the party office located at Rajgarh road in Kheri city.

As per reports, the assailants first greeted Verma and proceeded to shoot him on his right leg and fled the area. He was immediately rushed to the hospital and is now out of danger. As per reports, the legislator is unable to comment on the situation as he is in a state of shock.

A case has been registered and investigations are underway to get to the bottom of the situation.
