Uttar Pradesh Court Files Complaint against Journalist Ravish Kumar for Anti-CAA Speech

Lucknow, December 24, 2019:

The Chief Judicial Magistrate court in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh has filed a complaint against renowned Journalist Ravish Kumar and senior Congress leaders for giving speeches against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act.

A complaint has also been filed against Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and many more for speaking against the CAA publicly.

Advocate Pradeep Gupta has filed a complaint against them for their provocative speeches In the Aligarh court. He has also mentioned the name of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi. The matter will be heard on January 24.

It may be mentioned here that the Citizenship Act provides citizenship to Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Parsis, Buddhists, and Christians fleeing religious persecution from Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh, who came to India on or before December 31, 2014.

The new law has been the major concern of the people across the states. Widespread violence has been reported from several parts of the country. While the citizens have been opposing the law, the government is determined to implement the law. It has been assuring the people that the new law will not affect the citizens of the country and that the aim is to provide shelter to the non-Muslims.
