It seems like the viral phenomenon TikTok is now starting to bring families together! In a truly bizarre turn of events, a 'missing' man was forced to return home after his family spotted him in a TikTok video in Villupuram district of Tamil Nadu.
The man in question, Suresh, was a native of Krishnagiri and was married to Jayaprada with whom he had two kids. After Suresh suddently went 'missing' went him, his wife lodged a complaint at the local police station, but his whereabouts could not be found.
Three years later, a family member spotted a man similar to Suresh in a TikTok video, and after Jayaprada confirmed that it was indeed her missing husband, police tracked him down in neighboring town Hosur (bordering Karnataka).
Somewhat bizarrely, police tracked down the absconding husband with the help of an NGO which works for the welfare of transgenders.
Police provided counselling to the husband and wife before sending them homewards.
The TikTok mobile app allows users to create a short video of themselves which often feature music in the background, can be sped up, slowed down or edited with a filter.
To create a music video with the app, users can choose background music from a wide variety of music genres, edit with a filter and record a 15-second video with speed adjustments before uploading it to share with others on TikTok or other social platforms.
Truly a bizarro world!
