Four coaches and the engine of the Sabarmati-Agra Cantt Express derailed near Madar railway station in Ajmer, Rajasthan during the early hours of Monday.
There have been no reported fatalities, but several passengers have incurred injuries. Rescue operations are ongoing, with Railway Protection Force, Government Railway Police, Additional Divisional Railway Manager and other high-ranking officials present at the scene, working to restore the derailed coaches and engine.
Passengers report the incident occurred around 1 am. North Western Railways CPRO Shashi Kiran confirmed the derailment, stating 'Vehicle number 12548, travelling from Sabarmati to Agra, derailed near the home signal in Ajmer’s Madar today. Four general coaches and the engine of the train derailed.'
The Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) confirmed that no lives were lost in a recent train incident. Railway officials promptly arrived at the accident site, ensuring those with minor injuries were transported to nearby hospitals. Despite the incident, many passengers were aboard the train.
In response, railway authorities have established a support desk at Ajmer station and shared a helpline number, 0145-2429642, to assist those affected.
